Jacobsdottir et al (PMID: 19197355) used five SNPs associated with risk of inflammatory bower disease, from this publication and others, to model risk assessment. Using published allele frequencies, the area under the curve (AUC) of the ROC (receiver operating curve, a plot of the true-positive fraction and false-positive fraction) was only a modest 0.66. This is well below the level needed for an assay to provide useful clinical risk classifications for individual patients.
